Based in Chilliwack, BC, Old Yale Brewing Company’s founding brew master, Larry Caza, can be considered one of the pioneers of the Canadian Craft Beer Industry. After 15-years of craft brewing success (including the most recent Canadian Brewing “Beer of Year” win for Sasquatch Stout), Old Yale Brewing Company continues to innovate new products that meet the growing consumer demand for great tasting craft beer.
New Product Launching
In April 2015, Old Yale Brewing announced the launch of a new seasonal beer that will join their award- winning TALL TALE Series lineup: Vanishing Monk Belgian Witbier is an unfiltered Belgian style Witbier with hints of orange and coriander, a slightly tart finish, and a fluffy white head. The craft beer is described as “light with refreshing tartness”.
“We’re fortunate to have such an experienced brewmaster on our team, which gives us the ability to experiment and push the limits – and as a result, develop great tasting, unique beer. The Belgian Witbier is a classic style that has been brewed for centuries and we’re excited and proud to line our product up against some of the best Witbiers in the category” stated Zach VanLeeuwen, Operations Manager for Old Yale Brewing.
The Brewery’s Tall Tales Series celebrates the mythical characters that might find their way into spooky campfire tales, including Canada’s 2014 Best Beer, the Sasquatch Stout and the unique Screaming Banshee Irish Cream Stout. Dark and haunting illustrations capture the essence of each “tall tale”, with stories about the mythical characters on each label. Vanishing Monk celebrates a local BC tale centered around Deadman Valley in the interior of BC. Belgian style beers are also often, and were traditionally, brewed by Monks.
The new beer’s label was designed by Subplot Design Inc., and features an illustration done by a local Vancouver artist that was created to bring the beer’s unique TALL TALE story to life.
The Vanishing Monk will be available for order in bomber bottles and will be sold in retail stores later this month.
